We all have a responsibility to promote high standards of behaviour in the game and to create a good public image.
Behaviour on sidelines is one of the biggest concerns in the game. This includes the abuse of match officials and the unacceptable behaviour of spectators on the sideline.
Respectthe referee today and help us ensure the continuing involvement of referees in the amateur game.
Play your part and observe and be aware of The Scottish Amateur Football Association's Code of Conduct in everything you do.
• Show respect to others involved in the game including match officials, opposition players, coaches, managers, officials and spectators.
• Be appreciative of effort and good play from both sides.
• Always respect the match official's decision.
• Never enter the field of play and remain behind the touchline.
• Never engage in public criticism of the match officials.
• Never engage in, or tolerate, offensive, insulting or abusive language or behavior.
• The use of racial, sectarian, homophobic or discriminatory behavior or chanting is FORBIDDEN and is considered unacceptable.
• Be opposed to discrimination of any form and promote measures to prevent it, in whatever form from being expressed.
• Never use social media sites such as Facebook or Twitter to post any defamatory remarks regarding players, club officials, match officials, opponents, other coaches, colleagues or the SAFA/AAFA.
• Items such as knives, fireworks, smoke canisters, air horns, flares, weapons, dangerous or hazardous items, laser devices, bottles, glass vessels and any article that may be used as a weapon or compromise public safety are not permitted within the ground. Any party in possession of such items will be asked to leave or refused entry to the ground.
• Banners which could cause offence, annoyance or obstruction are not permitted within the ground.
• Whilst in possession of alcohol, intoxicated or under the influence of any illegal substances you will be asked to leave or refused entry to the ground.
I understand that if I do not follow the Code, any/all of the following actions may be taken by my club, league or the SAFA
• Required to meet with the club committee.
• Suspended by the club from attending matches and or banned completely.
• Suspended or fined by the League.
• Required to leave immediately.
