Annbank United CFC - Code of conduct - Coaches

SEASON 24/25

We all have a responsibility to promote high standards of behaviour in the game. Annbank

United Community Football Club recognise this and support the codes of conduct

recommended by the Scottish Amateur Football Association (SAFA) in accordance with their constitution and rules and with that of the Ayrshire Amateur Football Association (AAFA).

In Particular, on and off the field, I will:

Show respect to others involved in the game including match officials, opposition players,

coaches, officials, parents and supporters of both teams.

Understand and abide by the laws, rules and spirit of the game and any competition in

which we participate

Promote Fair Play and high standards of behaviour

Work with the Officials and always show respect

Never engage in public criticism of the officials

Never engage in, or tolerate, offensive, insulting or abusive language or behaviour.

Place the well-being, safety and enjoyment of each player above everything, including

winning.

Explain exactly what I expect of players and what they can expect from me

Always be honest with players, parents, guardians and officials

Display good standards of behaviour and appearance when representing the club and must

not use any social media websites to post any defamatory or derogatory comments on

club/match officials, opponents, other coaches etc. or indeed the SAFA/AAFA

Be able to find and know protocols for first aid procedurals i.e. stretcher, defibrillator location,

vehicular access etc. so that an element of confusion/panic does not set in

Develop mutual trust and respect with every player to build their self-esteem and

encourage each player to accept responsibility for their own behaviour and performance

Always look for and encourage positive attributes, performance and effort. Ensure that

coaching sessions are both enjoyable but develop players skills, decision making and

understanding

Must adhere to the anti-doping guidance published by the SAFA/AAFA

I understand that if I do not follow the Code of conduct, action may be taken by my club,

League or National Association. I agree to abide by these principles and also to the details

further provided in the appendix attached being the SAFA/AAFA code of conduct from their

handbook. I support the club in its continuing endeavours to promote higher standards of

behaviour within the game.

The AAFA has the power to deal with as is sees fit, any player, individual or club, for any misconduct reported to it. This covers conduct deemed to be unsportsmanlike, not in accord with amateur football or bringing the game into disrepute by imposing a period of suspension or censure. BRINGING THE GAME INTO DISREPUTE in simple terms means anything that is deemed to infer that the good reputation of amateur football is lost or is tarnished because it is connected with activities that people do not approve of.
