Annbank United CFC - Code of conduct - Players

We all have a responsibility to promote high standards of behaviour in the game. Annbank United Community Football Club recognise this and support the codes of conduct recommended both by the Scottish Amateur Football Association (SAFA) in accordance with their constitution and rules and with that of the Ayrshire Amateur Football Association (AAFA).

As a player, you have your own part to play. Fair Play and respect for all others in the game is essential. At Annbank United Community Football Club we actively encourage all players to be aware of the code of conduct and apply same at all times when representing the club.

In particular on and off the field i will:

Accept personal responsibility for your behaviour, conduct and performance both on match days but also during training sessions. Represent the club both in the proper manner and with due courteousy

Play fairly with sportsmanship and respect not only to opposition players but also their supporters and match officials

Respect my team-mates, opposition, officials and self

Play by the rules and always respect the referee, never argue with match officials

Value your opposition by playing hard and fair, respect good play whether from your team or the opposition

Shake hands with the other team and referee at the end of the game

Lead by example both on and off the pitch

Listen and cooperate with your manager/ coach/team mates etc and accept both defeat and winning in a mannerly and polite fashion

Make every effort to attend training sessions and work hard to lmprove my technique, skills and performance level

Accept all decisions on the field of play in a courteous manner and do not interfere with, bully or take an unfair advantage of any other player

Talk to someone I trust or the club welfare officer if I’m unhappy about anything at my club.

Display good standards of behaviour and appearance when representing the club and must not use any social media websites to post any derogatory comments on club/match officials, opponents, other coaches etc or indeed the SAFA/AAFA

Must adhere to the anti-doping guidance published by SAFA/AAFA

I understand that if I do not follow the Code of conduct, actions may be taken by my club, league or National Association. I agree to abide by these principles and also to the details further provided in the appendix attached being from the AAFA code of conduct from their handbook which includes details of fixed penalties for standard offences.

The AAFA has the power to deal with as is sees fit, any player, individual or club, for any misconduct reported to it. This covers conduct deemed to be unsportsmanlike, not in accord with amateur football or bringing the game into disrepute by imposing a period of suspension or censure. BRINGING THE GAME INTO DISREPUTE in simple terms means anything that is deemed to infer that the good reputation of amateur football is lost or is tarnished because it is connected with activities that people do not approve of.
